the brand

The idea of the KUMO brand was born on a stormy autumn day. The clouds were moving rapidly over the sky, representing a powerful and flexible group of transformative shapes designed by nature. The compact black and dark blue colors spread out over a large area while constantly drifting and changing, just like a drop of ink on a wet paper. The inspiration was immediate and KUMO was born on that stormy day in October. KUMO means cloud in Japanese.

The vision and the value

Just like the nature phenomena that we call clouds, KUMO is driven by a vision to create farments that can reflect the transforming shapes and shades of the clouds

In order to show nature and the planet respect KUMO gives worn out and discarded textiles a new life and a new chance to shine Every single piece of fabric is recycled and used in the most conscious way. Even the tiniest scraps are implemented in the garments and accessories. KUMO motto What nature gives we must cherish.

The first collection

KUMO'S ties born collection SA 2024 celebrates the greatness of the clouds, the shapes colors and complexity, the way the doods affect us and makes us dream The collection goes under the name Kumo No Ono, meaning The Sound Of Clouds in Japanese

Just like the sound can be everything between total sdence and pealking high and the shades can vary from dazzling white to darkest black, KUMO garments will show

the same kind of scale and transformations To be true to the brand philosophy, the garments will be unique when it comes to colors and antwas all depending on the access of fabrics. The names of the garments are playful ways of describing the shapes in Japanese.

The crafting tradition

Just like KUMO pays attention to the environment during the design and production process, the brand also celebrates the hand crafting tradition from many cultures all over the world.

The crafted details make every single garment one of a kind, created by human hands.

The Kumo No Oto collection has traces of the ancient Japanese Sashiko and Boro traditions. When beauty and functionality walks hand in hand, KUMO is ready to join in.

sLutord
